Holy Yoga embraces the essential elements of yoga: breath work, meditation and physical postures. In all of these elements, Christ is the focus of our intention and worship. There are other concepts and traditions that may be part of some yoga practices that are not typically a part of Holy Yoga, such as chanting “OM” or using chakra theory to explain the interplay of the physical and energetic dynamic in the human body. A typical class will include a biblical devotion/intention set to Christian music as I guide you through Hatha Yoga postures.
The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. Creating a sacred space to do this is truly worshipful. This practice is not only healing for the soul...it also touts many physical benefits as well.
Here are a few:
*increased flexibility (NO, you do not have to come "flexible"...that comes with practice! Come as you are!)
*increased muscle strength and tone
*improved respiration, energy and vitality
*maintaining a balanced metabolism
*weight reduction
*cardio and circulatory health
*Improved athletic performance
*protection from injury
"Holy Yoga Slow Flow" is vinyasa style practice linking breath with motion. This class focuses on using the breath to support the body through a series of postures that strengthen all of the major muscle groups with greater awareness of postural fundamentals and more focus on mind-body integration ...modifications make this class steady or as challenging you like.
Open to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.
